Einsteins, we’re excited to announce the 8th supported chain on the Wormhole network: Fantom!
Why Fantom?
Fantom is a layer-1 blockchain with a fast consensus mechanism, allowing for high throughput and sub-cent fees. Over the past year, the network has also experienced explosive growth, handling ~1,000,000 transactions per day with an average block time of 0.9s. With Fantom’s support, users can now reach its reach ecosystem comprising of over 80+ dApps, including DEXs, borrow/lending protocols, and more!
What’s available for users at launch?
Assets wrapped by Wormhole can move between any chain without “double or triple” wrapping. So users can swap into UST on any of Wormhole’s supported networks and bridge their UST directly to Fantom with liquidity on the newly launched Curve pool with UST from Wormhole, USDC and fUSDT.
New to Wormhole?
If you’re new to Wormhole, a very warm welcome to the leading decentralized cross-chain interoperability protocol! With each new supported network, Wormhole continues its remarkable growth:
- the protocols overall TVL (Total Value Locked) stands at over $2.2bn
- in the last month alone, TVL has grown over $1bn
- in one single day (March 5th) the bridged volume exceeded $300m
- currently, several thousand messages are submitted each day
Below you can watch Chase M., a Wormhole contributor, explaining in great detail what Wormhole does and how it works.
